OK, this one is going to be a bit different. As you know I mainly shoot weddings but in the winter I do find time to do other types of photography and I really enjoy it. So when Sarah got in contact with me asking to do a bump shoot I jumped at the chance. I’d only done one before and it was brilliant as I put the bump in the sea. It’s January now so there is no chance of an outdoor bump shoot, far too cold so I used my flat. Initially I had a studio setup in my living room and I we done a few shots in front of a black background, you know the classic stuff but I wasn’t feeling it. It just wasn’t my style so I ask Sarah if she’d mind going out to the flat close as it was afternoon and nobody would be about. Some of you will be aware that the closes in tenements in Glasgow are full of character so this fitted in with my style of photography. I wanted to create something natural and beautiful as apposed to artificial yet still beautiful of the studio bump shoot. I’d like to thank Sarah for being both brave and confident to go ahead with this shoot and for even giving me permission to share the images here with you.
I am only sharing one image with you but if you’re interested in doing an alternative bump shoot then please give me a shout and I will let you see the full gallery.
